Starchy’s – 2025

Starchy’s is a project in which I was tasked with creating a WordPress website for a fictional restaurant called Starchy’s. The base concept for Starchy’s was bare bones, there was a set menu and certain information that had to be included on the website, but I was given creative freedom in regards to the brand, identity, and even product sold. The guidelines stated what the menu items were named – but the products did not have to be actual burgers or food at all. Thinking outside of the box was encouraged for this project.

I made Starchy’s a virtual shop that sells “burger joint” themed cryptocurrency and NFT’s within a 3D VR world, inspired by Meta’s 3D virtual world (the Metaverse) and how people can buy virtual (aka not real) land within this world. My low poly Starchy’s building is based on the similar video game style images of property that can be bought within the Metaverse. To create my assets, images, and videos, I used Blender, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.

Above is a 3D animated asset used in the Starchy’s branding and various characters I created for the menu items. For the character designs, I was inspired by early 1930’s cartoons.
